Welcome to Aerosol.  A Web site dedicated to documenting Sydney’s graffiti culture.  This site contains interviews with some of Sydney’s best known graffiti artists,  photographic and video footage of their works and links to other art related sites.   For the past ten years I have been collecting and documenting various pieces of graffiti art works splashed around Sydney and surrounding suburbs.  These art works were large, colourful, and in most cases,  were completed under extreme conditions.  Some were done legally, others illegally.    Most of the work took many, many hours to design and complete,  only to have authorities paint over them the following day.  I began documenting these art works  because I thought it was such a waste of time and effort,  to have an artist create something,  and then have it destroyed without anyone else experiencing it.  I used my camera in an attempt to preserve these paintings.    This Web site is an opportunity for me to promote the works of these artists,  whom if not for the Web, and other alternative publishing mediums,  would never have the opportunity to formally exhibit their art.   Last modified 19th Jan. 98.
